James Maddison marked his first competitive Tottenham start since May 2025 with a spectacular goal against Coventry, and the referee’s camera captured a superb view of the finish.
The midfielder opened the scoring in the 14th minute of Monday’s 3-1 Premier League win at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Mohammed Kudus supplied the pass from the right, with Maddison meeting it first time outside the penalty area and curling a right-footed shot into the top corner.
The ref-cam footage puts viewers down at pitch level as the ball travels towards goal, with Coventry goalkeeper Carl Rushworth stretching in vain before the Tottenham players turn away to celebrate.
It was a memorable way to return to the starting line-up, particularly against the club where Maddison began his professional career.
His opener did not make it a straightforward evening for Spurs. Jack Rudoni equalised after half-time before Omar Marmoush restored the home side’s advantage with his first Tottenham goal.
Ben Davies then added a third in stoppage time to secure Tottenham’s first Premier League victory of the season.
After six league games without a win, Spurs climbed off the bottom of the table and into 16th.
