Harry Kane adds goal kicks to his job description and almost catches Arsenal out

The Bayern striker launched an attack from his own six-yard box that almost ended with Arsenal conceding.

Harry Kane apparently decided scoring and creating goals was not quite enough work against Arsenal. He took over goal-kick duties as well.

During Bayern Munich’s Champions League meeting with the Gunners, Kane dropped into his own six-yard box and sent a quick restart upfield, turning an Arsenal attack into a scramble back towards their own goal.

His delivery picked out Alphonso Davies, giving Bayern the chance to break before Arsenal could get themselves organised.

The move ended with Serge Gnabry getting a clear sight of goal, but David Raya saved to prevent Kane’s unusual contribution from producing the opener.

The footage follows Kane’s delivery upfield as Bayern turn a goal kick into a chance at the other end.

He did eventually get back to his more familiar duties during Wednesday’s 2-2 draw at the Allianz Arena.

After Eberechi Eze put Arsenal ahead, Kane supplied the pass for Davies to equalise before scoring a second-half penalty himself.

That looked enough to win it for Bayern, until Declan Rice struck late to rescue a point for Arsenal.
