A referee carried out a pitch inspection in Spain by dropping a ball onto a playing surface already covered in standing water.
The official was checking conditions before Pena Deportiva’s fourth-tier fixture against UCAM Murcia in Ibiza on Sunday. Standing in the flooded area, he released the ball to see whether it would bounce.
It landed in the water without bouncing back up.
The Segunda Federacion match had initially been delayed before being postponed, with heavy rain leaving the pitch unplayable.
Pena Deportiva shared footage of the inspection on social media, asking whether the game would be going ahead.
