Oh Hyeon-gyu followed his shirt-off celebration with a much more restrained gesture when the referee came over to book him.

The Besiktas striker bowed towards Lawrence Visser, who acknowledged him with a small nod of his own during Thursday’s Europa League match at Hoffenheim.

Oh had just scored his second goal to put the visitors 3-1 ahead. After removing his shirt to celebrate, the South Korean accepted the resulting yellow card without protesting.

His two goals proved decisive in Besiktas’ 3-2 victory in Germany. With the match level at 1-1, Oh struck twice to give his side breathing space before Hoffenheim pulled one back late on.

Besiktas held on for the win, with their match-winner adding a polite exchange with the referee to his evening’s contributions.
