Dog Stops North Macedonia v Scotland for Brief Tour of the Pitch

Clip: X

North Macedonia’s Nations League match against Scotland was briefly interrupted after a dog entered the pitch and began inspecting the playing surface.

Scotland were leading through Kieron Bowie’s early goal when the visitor appeared during the ninth minute at the Tose Proeski Arena in Skopje.

The dog jogged across the grass, stopped to sniff several areas and avoided North Macedonia defender Sebastien Herrera when he attempted to guide it towards the touchline.

Play remained suspended for approximately 30 seconds before the dog eventually left without requiring assistance.

Scotland later completed a 2-0 victory through John McGinn’s second-half penalty, while Scott McKenna was sent off during the closing stages.

The match therefore contained two goals, one red card and a pitch invader who successfully avoided receiving either.
