The club confirmed that the matter had been referred to police and said it was helping the authorities identify those responsible.
It also warned that the investigation “may result in criminal prosecution”, stressing the importance of protecting supporters, staff, players and officials on matchdays.
The incident took place during Liverpool’s 2-1 Premier League win at Brentford on 17 October.
The club’s statement did not identify anyone involved or announce an arrest. Its response confirmed that the rooftop incident was being treated as a safety matter.
