Liverpool fans chant ‘You cheating bastards’ before Man City clash

Liverpool supporters chanted “You cheating bastards, you know what you are” outside Anfield before their Premier League match against Manchester City.

The short clip, shared before kick-off, captures fans repeating the chant. The accompanying image shows a packed crowd outside the stadium, with one supporter standing above the gathering holding a flare as red smoke drifts overhead.

City’s first match since guilty verdict

The fixture was City’s first since an independent commission found the club guilty of serious breaches of the Premier League’s financial rules.

The findings covered financial breaches across nine seasons, from 2009-10 to 2017-18, alongside failures to cooperate with the investigation. City deny wrongdoing and have lodged an appeal against the ruling.

Their eventual punishment remained undecided, with the appeal process still to run as the team returned to league action.
