Blooming Teammates Execute Perfect Tackle on Each Other
Clip: X
Two Blooming players successfully stopped their own attack by running directly into each other during a Copa Pacena match against Independiente Petrolero.
The incident occurred after Blooming played a corner short to Roberto Hinojosa, who moved into position to deliver the ball.
Miguel Villarroel attempted to make a forward run while Matias Abisab travelled in the opposite direction. Neither appeared to notice the other until they collided at speed and collapsed together.
The ball remained several yards away throughout, leaving Independiente Petrolero’s defenders free to watch Blooming perform their work for them.
Both players quickly returned to their feet, although the footage had already ensured that the planned routine would receive considerably more attention than any successful corner probably would have done.
The collision formed part of an increasingly unfortunate evening for Blooming. Hinojosa had an early penalty saved before Gilbert Alvarez scored in the seventh minute of stoppage time to give Independiente Petrolero a 1-0 victory.
The defeat also eliminated Blooming from the competition.
Most short-corner routines are designed to create confusion among the opposition.
Blooming found a more efficient approach by confusing the two players carrying it out.
