An American couple who became Wrexham supporters after watching Welcome to Wrexham have taken their interest in the club to its logical conclusion by moving from Texas to Wrexham.

Jeff and Janice Ivey, from New Braunfels, first became interested in the club through the documentary series following Wrexham since Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s takeover.

They have since visited Wales seven times in two-and-a-half years.

This has apparently not been enough.

The couple are now preparing to move permanently to Wrexham, with Jeff already in the city looking for a house while Janice remains in Texas selling their current home and waiting for her visa.

Their story eventually reached Reynolds, who responded on social media.

“Thank God they didn’t watch Chernobyl,” the Wrexham co-owner wrote.

The couple are among the international supporters attracted to Wrexham since the documentary first aired in 2022, with the series following the club through three consecutive promotions and eventually into the Championship.

Most have responded by watching matches, buying shirts or travelling to Wales.

Jeff and Janice have chosen the more permanent option.

Welcome to Wrexham has already been renewed for another three seasons.

For viewers beginning the series now, relocation remains optional.
